“Ryokan” is a traditional Japanese-style hotel. Most Ryokans are built in a classic Japanese architecture where you can see a typical Japanese building facade. At a Ryokan you will experience a part of Japanese culture and customs - staying in a room with “Tatami (straw mat)”, and having typical Japanese cuisine! As there are many “Onsen (hot springs)” in Japan, taking an open-air big bath is one of the pleasures of staying at a Ryokan. After taking a bath, it would be another enjoyment to explore a town nearby in a Yukata (Japanese robe) like Japanese people do.

Please note that the fee system of Ryokan is different from that of a Western-style hotel. JAF’s SYC&S program offers you 10% discount on the usual Ryokan charge
(except taxes and service charges) at its Ryokan Partners. |
Advance booking is necessary to receive SYC&S discounts. Please make a reservation by phone and let the operator know that you would like to receive the same discount as JAF member, through SYC&S Program.
